Biography

I am a microbial ecologist interested in plant associated fungal symbionts. My research focuses primarily on the symbiosis between mycorrhizal fungi and plants, examining both fundamental and applied aspects of the mycorrhizal symbiosis. Because of the complexity of the mycorrhizal symbiosis, my research borrows techniques from disparate scientific fields including mycology, botany, microbiology, molecular biology, high throughput sequencing, bioinformatics, community ecology, and statistical modeling.
